Let’s meet in the middle.

Let’s meet in the middle for the future. I say this only because I find myself in such pain when I read anything nowadays. I realized through seeing and hearing everyone on the internet and people around me that we are so divided in so many ways. Some people want to take the vaccine, I hear the other side of why others are not. I respect both parties. I respect the choice for your own body. I respect the choice to do it for others as well. I hear the division with our electoral. We no longer can see what is in common. We see what is different. Yet, the hate on both sides for one another is the same. Not one is better than the other or more “woke”. They both are causing harm. They both are creating a rift. There is truth in both sides of everything yet, we can’t seem to meet each other in the middle to find the common truth.

I find myself day in and day out knowing that if these people were put in a room together to physically talk this out, none of these words would be said. There would be common courtesy and mutual respect for the other's opinion. So, why is the internet any different. We should learn to be more respectful of it. Make it a place that's not so crazy full of hate. Bring back all the weird memes, funny things, and joy. The internet I grew up on and the content that was being put out was just weird. Everyone seemed to be more truly themselves because for some reason we didn’t care so much about what others were saying or doing. We were enjoying what we were doing. What we were creating and what was happening in our direct circle. If things on the internet were directly affecting my job, home life, and random strangers were getting me fired I would be distraught. I think you would too, so why do that to someone we don’t know. Why try and be the ones to “bring justice” to society. Karma is there for a reason, whatever action has a reaction. So, if it’s negative, something bad is bound to happen later down the road. We don’t need to be the ones in charge of other people’s karma. That's, not our job. Our job is to bring more kindness into the world so that the divide is lessened. So that we have a future for our kids and show them that we don’t need to be divided.

The future isn’t gonna happen if we can’t agree on things and find a common goal. A common goal I think we should be focusing on fixing, I don’t know but global warming seems to be a pretty big one. It’s called the climate crisis for a reason. Florida will sink below the ocean within 20 years. Islands will be below the surface and people will be without a home. The luxury of living our life will be gone. We will have shortages of things and all those billionaires will buy all rights to water. (they have already started). So, I think we need to look and really see with our eyes and hearts what really matters. I think what really matters is climate change, social change, and moving us to a better future for everyone and everything. Wildlife matters, all living things matter, and yet we can’t seem to look at how our purchases cause harm to it all. I have an Instagram dedicated to showcasing eco-friendly products that you can get to replace the ones that cause harm. It’s call save_the_earth-everday. I haven’t been able to post much because I haven’t been finding as many alternatives and feel awkward recycling old content. But if you check it out, you might find some alternatives to things. I really enjoy seeing people enjoy a lifestyle that's less harmful.

I think that if we can learn to meet in the middle more often than not, we can accomplish more than we can ever imagine. Instead of shutting people completely out, we learn to let them in to see if they have a good heart, that's more important. what’s also important is learning something and experiencing new things, that takes courage. It takes courage to come into the world with an open heart and wide eyes looking for positive opportunities. It’s hard and some days aren’t as enjoyable and pleasant. That doesn’t mean they were wasted. It just means that moment in time wasn’t the best and we can keep moving so that we can get to a moment that is more enjoyable and memorable.

I am a communications major in the making, I make mistakes, I learn and grow as I am developing my skills and what I enjoy. (Which is writing these articles and streaming). I just really wish for more people to find the middle ground so that we don’t have so much hate for one another. Hate destroys good things. We want more good things so let us stop hating and start looking through a lens of love, compassion, and optimism for the future for us and all living things.
